Watchmaker Julius Epple founded “ARISTO Uhren- und Uhrengehäusefabrik” in Pforzheim in 1907. Millions of watches were released under the brand ARISTO until 1992. In good times the company produced up to 3.000 watches per day. In 1998, it was Hans Jörg Vollmer who finally took over the company’s fortune from the founder family that had been in charge for three generations. Nowadays, ARISTO watches are available in over 40 countries and have gained a high rank in the circle of worldwide renowned watch labels. This achievement has been possible because the company successfully switched from former mass production to manufacture of sophisticated watch editions. Some of the small series have become classics, such as the B-Uhr replicas, which are highly popular with watch collectors in the USA and Japan.
Pilot watches, chronographs and other vintage models consolidated the worldwide reputation of the company’s sports watches. For lovers of maritime watch models, special U-Boat watches are produced, that are successful eye-catchers by their large-surfaced luminescent dials. The product range is completed by a series of noble ladies watches.
Since 2005, the company operates as “Aristo Vollmer GmbH” in Pforzheim. It produces watches under the brands ARISTO, Messerschmitt, Vollmer and Erbprinz and mostly assembles Swiss movements.
