Autran & Viala Watches
The watch case factory Ickler was founded by chain maker Karl Ickler in Pforzheim in 1924. After WW2, his sons Heinz and Kurt re-established the family business. Nowadays, Thomas Ickler runs the business in its third generation and decided to extend production from premium watch cases to entire high-quality watches.
The watches are made in Germany. Design, construction, prototyping, production of spare parts, surface treatment, laser engraving and assembling are part of the manufacturing process that takes place in Pforzheim. The company attaches great importance to constant quality checks during the manufacturing process of watches and watch cases across all production levels. This includes turning and milling, polishing and assembling, mounting of movements, dials and hands and the final inspection. Each timepiece is thoroughly tested before it leaves the company’s place and has a two-year international warranty.
Ickler produces high-quality quartz watches under the brand AUTRAN & VIALA. It is named after horologists François Autran and Jean Viala who founded the first clock manufactory in Pforzheim in 1767. For AUTRAN & VIALA watches Swiss movements are used exclusively. The flat, high-quality stainless steel housings are equipped with anti-reflective sapphire crystals and solid screw soils. Other watch brands of the company are Limes, Archimede and Defakto which are available at limited line retailers.
